President Emmanuel Macron Breaks Silence on Viral Video of His Wife Appearing to Push Him on a Plane
The French politician and his longtime spouse recently began their Southeast Asian tour. However, their interaction while exiting a plane has raised eyebrows.
President Emmanuel Macron has reportedly downplayed an incident involving him and his wife Brigitte Macron as they arrived in Vietnam on May 25, 2025. A video showing Brigitte seemingly shoving her husband's face went viral.
"I was bickering, or rather joking, with my wife. It's nothing," Emmanuel told reports in Hanoi. According to him, this was one of the many incidents in which the content of videos had been twisted by people he described as "crackpots."
Before breaking his silence on the matter, an Elysee official has spoken out about the recent clip of the couple stating:
"It was a moment when the president and his wife were relaxing one last time before the start of the trip by having a laugh. It was a moment of closeness."
The interaction between the pair occurred moments before they descended from the presidential plane. As they walked the steps together, Emmanuel extended his arm to Brigitte, with whom he has been married since 2007, but she refused.
