The songstress earned praise from netizens for her eye-catching attire at the event. In an interview, she shared interesting details about the dress.
Diana Ross attended the Met Gala on May 5, 2025, in New York City for the first time in over two decades. She last graced the event with her presence back in 2003.
For this year, the "Queen of Motown Records" walked the red carpet with the help of several men in a jaw-dropping gown featuring an 18-foot-long train adorned with feathers and hand-embroidered ivory accessories. She had on a matching wide-brimmed hat to go with the look.
During a red carpet interview, Diana, who admitted that her appearance was a last-minute decision because she is currently on tour, dished details about the cape:
"It has the names of all my children and my eight grandchildren."
Underneath the train, the actress rocked a crystal-embellished spaghetti-strapped gown which she paired with chandelier earrings. The veteran star, whose son Evan Ross accompanied her for the occasion, called the dress "a forever family gown."
Following her show-stopping entrance, fans couldn't stop raving about the legendary singer's dazzling look. "Hands down Diana Ross won the Met Gala!!" exclaimed one person. Another echoed, "agree, she is drop dead gorgeous [sic]." While a third added, "She is fabulous! Always has been!" A few others expressed the same sentiments.
