Travis Kelce Breaks Taylor Swift's Chair on 'New Heights' Podcast
Travis Kelce gave listeners of the “New Heights” podcast an unscripted moment when a chair belonging to fiancée Taylor Swift broke beneath him mid-episode. The mishap sparked laughter, jokes about Swift’s reaction, and renewed talk about the couple’s famously drama-free relationship.
Travis Kelce is no stranger to viral moments, but his latest one came without warning. During a February 4, 2026 episode of the popular “New Heights” podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end accidentally broke a chair belonging to his fiancée, pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Kelce was recording the episode alongside his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce, when the incident occurred. As Travis leaned back while laughing at one of Jason’s jokes, the chair suddenly tipped backward and cracked loudly, briefly halting the conversation.
Jason immediately checked on his younger brother. “Are you alright?” he asked, reacting to the sound. Travis, clearly shaken but unhurt, quickly reassured him. Laughing, he added, “We’re good. Taylor’s gonna kill me,” drawing more laughter from the room.
A Chair With Personal Significance
While the chair itself was not described in detail, Travis made it clear it belonged to Swift, which raised the stakes of the accident. The comment suggested that the furniture was either personally chosen or held some meaning, making the break more than a minor studio mishap.
Despite Kelce’s status as an NFL star, the situation felt relatable. Many fans shared clips online, joking about whether Swift would ever let him forget the accident.
Kelce, however, seemed more amused than worried. His lighthearted reaction fit the casual tone that has helped make “New Heights” one of the most popular athlete-led podcasts in the country.
A Relationship Without Arguments
The chair incident also brought renewed attention to Kelce’s recent comments about his relationship with Swift. During a separate episode of “New Heights,” Kelce revealed that the couple has yet to have their first argument, even after more than two years together.
That conversation came up while Travis and Jason were interviewing actor George Clooney. The brothers referenced Clooney’s past claim that he and his wife had never argued during their decade-long marriage. What began as a playful discussion quickly turned personal.
After Travis asked Clooney whether he truly meant it, the actor responded confidently. “No, I’m not lying,” Clooney said, before turning the question back on Kelce.
The reversal caught Travis off guard, but he answered honestly. “Well, it’s only been two and a half years, and you’re right. I haven’t gotten into an argument. Never once,” he revealed.
Humor, Honesty, and Public Fascination
Kelce’s openness added to public fascination with the relationship. Fans have closely followed the couple since they went public, often praising their balance of privacy and transparency.
The chair-breaking moment only fueled that interest. While Kelce joked that Swift might be upset, the incident appeared more likely to become a humorous story than a serious issue. Given Kelce’s success, replacing the chair would hardly be a challenge.
In the end, the broken chair was less about damage and more about personality. Travis Kelce’s quick humor, combined with his candid reflections on life and love, turned a small accident into a memorable moment.
