Barry Manilow Reveals Cancer Diagnosis
Barry Manilow is making some unexpected changes to his tour schedule. The music legend shared a personal health update that’s prompting him to postpone several upcoming shows.
Barry Manilow has revealed he was recently diagnosed with a cancerous spot on his left lung. The announcement came in a personal statement shared on Instagram, where the legendary singer explained how the health issue was discovered and what it means for his tour schedule.

“We just finished five great Christmas concerts at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert,” Manilow wrote. “This marks the seventh time we have done these charity concerts and raised millions for nonprofit organizations throughout the Coachella Valley.”
After weeks of battling bronchitis and a relapse, Manilow’s doctor ordered an MRI to rule out any further issues. That scan revealed the cancerous spot.
“It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That’s the good news,” he said.

He added that doctors do not believe the cancer has spread and that additional tests are being done to confirm that. “So, that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”
Now that his Christmas concerts are over, Manilow is preparing to undergo surgery and take a month to recover. As a result, his arena shows originally scheduled for January 2026 will be moved.
“The only follow-up is a month to recover and that means we have to reschedule the January arena concerts,” he said. “I’m very sorry that you have to change your plans.”

The rescheduled dates begin February 27 in Tampa and continue through April, with stops in Columbus, Charleston, Orlando, Sunrise, Estero, Greensboro, Jacksonville, and Duluth, Georgia. Ticket holders will be able to use their existing tickets for the new dates.
Manilow also reminded fans that he’ll return to Las Vegas soon for his Valentine’s Day weekend concerts at the Westgate. “I’m counting the days until I return to my home away from home… on February 12-13-14 and throughout 2026,” he wrote.
Back in September, in an exclusive interview tied to the announcement of his farewell tour and a new single, “Once Before I Go,” Manilow said the tour would give him a chance to reflect and connect with longtime fans.
“These shows are very special to me,” Manilow said in that interview. “I not only get to perform my music again, but I also get to acknowledge the people who have been with me through the years — the fans. They are the most loyal people I’ve ever met.”
Manilow ended his recent statement with a simple holiday message and health reminder: “I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. And remember, if you have even the slightest symptom… get tested!”
