Kandi Burruss Ends Marriage to Todd Tucker
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have officially ended their 11-year marriage, a split the reality star describes as both emotional and necessary — and while the divorce comes just days after a heartfelt public tribute, the two are already showing how they plan to move forward as devoted co-parents.
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are ending their marriage after more than a decade together. The couple confirmed their split in an exclusive announcement to People, marking the close of an 11-year union that fans once saw as one of reality TV's strongest partnerships.
Burruss Made the Difficult Decision
In her statement, Burruss revealed that the decision came after deep reflection. "After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I've made the decision to move forward with a divorce," the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star said. "This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect."
Now 49, Burruss shared that she plans to pour her energy into her family, professional projects, and personal healing. "I'm grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family," she added.
A Love Story That Began on Reality TV
Burruss and Tucker first crossed paths in 2011 while filming "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Their relationship grew quickly — the pair announced their engagement in January 2013 and exchanged vows in April 2014.
During their marriage, they welcomed two children together: son Ace and daughter Blaze. They also blended their families, with Burruss being mom to Riley, 23, and Tucker being dad to Kaela, 29.
A Public Thank You Before a Private Break
Just days before their split went public, Burruss accepted the "Wifetime Achievement Award" at The Bravos in Las Vegas on November 14, 2025. In her speech, she publicly acknowledged Tucker's role in her journey.
"To Todd, thank you for surviving the blogs, the shade, the rumors, the lies, the truth, the almost fights, the actual fights, the reunions... You earned this award too," she said, a moment that now reads with added poignancy.
Despite the heartfelt tribute, the couple filed for divorce only a few days later.
Still Showing Up as Co-Parents
Even amid the separation, Burruss and Tucker were committed to putting their children first. The pair reunited to celebrate Blaze's 6th birthday, surrounding their daughter with love and family support.
Tucker posted a touching tribute to Instagram, writing, "Happy Birthday to my Baby Blaze! She my Beautiful little princess! She warms my heart every time I see her... Daddy. Loves you with all his heart!!! [sic]" In another post from the party, he added, "She makes me smile, laugh and remember how blessed I am. I love her so much."
Burruss also shared her own message, "Happy birthday to my little twin @blazetucker!!! Time is flying by! I can't believe you're six years old already... so strong, smart, talented, creative, big personality, & a winner! My beautiful little princess! I love you so much. [sic]"
She also posted glimpses of Blaze's celebration, showing the former couple surrounded by family and friends as they continue to navigate co-parenting.
Though their marriage has come to an end, Burruss and Tucker are determined to maintain harmony for their children. Their journey from on-set romance to blended family — and now to respectful co-parents — reflects their shared commitment to keeping family at the center.
