Dolly Parton's Rep Clears up Singer's Condition After Sister Freida Parton's Worrying Post

The singer's management clarified her current health condition after her sister's message on Facebook caused concern among fans.

On October 7, 2025, Dolly Parton's representative, Olly Rowland, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal the details of the legendary artist's illness. Freida Parton had originally asked for prayers earlier that day.

In a text, the rep explained, "It's just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those. It looks like her sister posted, and it got quite a bit blown out of proportion, weirdly."

Dolly is apparently doing well enough to record for an unknown, upcoming project in her home set in Nashville.

Earlier that Tuesday, Freida wrote on social media that she had been praying for her sister the entire night. She asked everyone who loved Dolly to join her in those well-wishes, finishing the post with a "Godspeed" and telling her sister everyone loved her.

Naturally, the message gathered thousands of comments from people all over the world, which prompted Freida to post a clarification a few hours later.

She explained that her intention was never to scare anyone or make Dolly's condition sound so dire. Freida only requested prayers because of her strong belief in them. This second post ended with a thank you to everyone who loves Dolly Parton.
