On the September 23, 2025 episode of "Dancing with the Stars," Robert Irwin, a wildlife conservationist, spoke candidly before stepping onto the dance floor with partner Witney Carson.

Their chosen routine was a tango set to "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior. Robert noted that while the 2002 hit came out before he was born, it reminded him of a time when his father's television career was at its peak with "The Crocodile Hunter," which aired from 1997 to 2004.

"There isn't a day goes by where someone isn't sharing how dad inspired them," he said in his pre-performance package. "It means everything to me, because every year I live, I actually feel closer to my dad."

The emotional reflection set the stage for a lively tango that drew praise from the judging panel. Bruno Tonioli applauded Robert's confidence, telling him he was in "leading man mode" while advising him not to rely on "gimmicks" in order to win the mirrorball trophy.

Carrie Ann Inaba highlighted the competitive field, remarking, "This level of competition is insane. Your charisma is off the charts." Derek Hough delivered his feedback with a nod to Robert's father, saying only one word, "Crikey," which earned him a high-five from the contestant.

For Robert, the show represents more than just a chance to compete for a trophy. His journey on "Dancing with the Stars" has given audiences an opportunity to see another side of him beyond his conservation work and television appearances at Australia Zoo.

ike his late father, Robert has dedicated much of his life to wildlife education and advocacy, but the dance floor has allowed him to connect with viewers in a more personal and expressive way.

Steve Irwin, known globally as "The Crocodile Hunter," passed away in 2006 when Robert was only two years old. Despite the loss, Robert has consistently shared how his father's passion continues to guide him. His reflections on the show underscore the enduring bond he feels, as well as the impact his father left on generations of fans.

As the competition intensifies, Robert's performances carry both entertainment value and emotional weight, bridging his family's legacy with his own growing presence in the public eye.
