Amanda Seyfried Traded Big City for Quiet Farm Life
Amanda Seyfried has traded the nonstop pace of city life for a quieter existence on a farm in New York's Hudson Valley. Between raising two young children and running a sustainable children's brand, the actress is embracing a slower, more balanced lifestyle.
In recent years, Amanda Seyfried has stepped back from the Hollywood spotlight. Though she remains active in her career, she hasn't been in many major films or TV projects lately.
The Emmy-winning actress wears many hats – she's a mother of two, a cofounder of the eco-friendly children’s brand "Make It Cute," and a resident of a picturesque farm in New York's Hudson Valley. Despite the peaceful surroundings, Seyfried makes it clear that she doesn't take her lifestyle for granted.
She and husband Thomas Sadoski, 48, are raising their daughter Nina, 7, and son Thomas, 4. In a conversation with Us Weekly, Seyfried opened up about parenthood, the challenges and joys of running a business with friends, and why she chose to leave the bustling city behind in favor of the countryside.
"The Hudson Valley has always felt incredibly romantic to me, and it's still close enough to New York City," she said. "I could never completely give up city life, but living there full-time is too much for me. Up here, it's like I'm living in a poem — there's always something to distract you from stress. And then I ended up with a whole bunch of animals, which keeps me busy as well."
Seyfried has also been focusing on her business ventures. She co-founded "Make It Cute", a line of sustainable playhouses for children, which she runs alongside friends. She described the experience as rewarding but noted it comes with its own set of challenges.
Though she isn't appearing in blockbuster films at the moment, Seyfried continues to choose projects that interest her and fit with her family life. "Being selective has allowed me to focus on things that matter most to me right now," she explained.
For Seyfried, the move to the Hudson Valley has been about balance. Living close enough to the city for work while enjoying a slower pace at home gives her the best of both worlds, a lifestyle she clearly values for herself and her family.
