Melania Trump Threatens $1B Lawsuit Against Hunter Biden over Epstein Bombshell
Melania Trump is threatening to sue Hunter Biden for more than $1 billion, accusing him of making a false claim that she met Donald Trump through convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
First Lady Melania Trump has threatened legal action against Hunter Biden, demanding a retraction and apology after he alleged she was introduced to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein.
Biden, son of former president Joe Biden, made the comment in an interview with filmmaker Andrew Callaghan earlier this month, saying, "Epstein introduced Melania to Trump – the connections are so wide and deep."
Melania's attorneys call the claim "false, disparaging, defamatory and inflammatory," and say it caused her "overwhelming financial and reputational harm."
A legal letter to Biden's lawyer demands he withdraw the statement or face a lawsuit seeking over $1 billion in damages. The letter also accuses Biden of repeating the allegation "to draw attention to yourself."
The Daily Beast previously published and then retracted a similar claim after receiving a challenge from Melania's attorney, apologizing "for any confusion or misunderstanding."
When asked if he would apologise, Biden said, "not going to happen," and called the legal threat "a designed distraction." He added that a lawsuit would give him the chance to depose both Donald and Melania Trump — something he was "more than happy" to do.
There is no evidence that Epstein introduced the Trumps. A 2016 Harper's Bazaar profile reported they met in 1998 at a party hosted by a modeling agency founder.
