Emma Stone Reveals She Secretly Went Bald
The "La La Land" star revealed that she underwent the secret transformation for her role in an upcoming sci-fi comedy, slated for release later this year.
Emma Stone is not afraid of making significant changes to her appearance for a role. The high-profile actress is dedicated to her craft and has particularly enjoyed her most recent transformation.

She revealed that she secretly shaved her head for her role in "Bugonia" during her interview with Vogue — published this Monday, August 11 — and it was her longtime close friend Jennifer Lawrence who did the honors.
"I really didn't want her to shave her head," Jennifer told the publication via email. "I had already lived through the Billie Jean King haircut." Still, the "Poor Things" star absolutely loved the result. "No better feeling in the world," Emma told Vogue.

"The first shower when you've shaved your head? Oh my God, it's amazing," she said. She was more than keen to go completely bald, but confessed that she broke down in tears right before. Years ago, her mother, Krista Stone, had lost her hair amid her breast cancer treatment.
"She actually did something brave," she remembered thinking. "I'm just shaving my head." However, it turns out Krista was envious of her daughter's new look. "My mom was like, 'I'm so jealous. I want to shave my head again,'" Emma shared.

Jennifer also added, "Honestly, she looked beautiful. She pulled it off." While filming "Bugonia," which comes out October 31st, Emma wore hats in public and admitted she donned a wig at the New York Film Festival last year.

It wasn't until awards season this year that she debuted her shorter locks. "I was bummed I wasn't going out with it," she lamented. "Just straight-up bald. I think that would have been fun."
