Why Brooke Hogan Was Left Out of Hulk Hogan's Will
In a deeply personal choice that raised eyebrows among fans, Brooke Hogan made the surprising move to cut herself out of her father's will — not for lack of love, but in pursuit of peace.
Brooke Hogan chose to remove herself from her father Hulk Hogan's will well before his death, a decision she says stemmed from long-standing emotional wounds and a desire to avoid future conflict.
The 37-year-old daughter of the wrestling icon proactively requested her name be taken off the legal document in 2023, following years of estrangement from her father.
Her husband, former NHL player Steve Oleksy, shared exclusive insight with Us Weekly about the difficult decision and the emotional toll it took.
"I believe my wife upheld her dad's best interests even after his death, mustering up all the courage and kindness she could despite still being very hurt," Steve, 39, said. "That money does not represent accomplishments in the ring — the majority of it came at the expense of my wife's dignity. It was built on hurtful comments about her and her past relationship, which caused pain not only to her, but to many other families."
Brooke addressed the matter during an appearance on "The Bubba the Love Sponge Show," revealing that she feared potential family conflict over her father's estate. "I just said, take me off everything, I don't want to be a part of it," she said, recalling the emotional moment she messaged Hulk's assistant. "I was sobbing."
She also noted that becoming a mother changed her perspective. After welcoming twins, Oliver Andrew and Molly Gene, earlier this year with Steve, Brooke said her priorities shifted. She no longer wanted financial entanglements to affect her growing family.
