Princess Diana’s Brother Shares Never-Before-Seen Childhood Photo
The ninth Earl Spencer took to social media recently to reminisce about his and his sister's childhood years. Earlier this month, he shared another cherished memory on the Princess's birthday.
Charles Spencer is remembering his late older sister, the beloved Princess Diana. On Tuesday, July 29, he shared a never-before-seen photo of himself and the Princess as children. In the image, the pair smile shyly at the camera while posing by the pool in their bathing suits.
"A long ago summer, by the swimming pool at our childhood home, Park House, Sandringham," Charles wrote. "Diana and I both proudly showing off our swimming badges (sewn onto our swimming costumes)."
He continued, "These were awarded (sparingly) by Mrs Lansdowne, a fairly terrifying but very gifted swimming instructor, who came to stay each year. We were never out of that pool."
Princess Diana remained active well into adulthood and continued to enjoy various sports. She unfortunately died following a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, just two months after she turned 36.
Her brother recently celebrated what would have been her 64th birthday on July 1. He shared a photo from Diana's sixth birthday party in 1967. In the image, the siblings are joined by a few other children and are perched on the back of Camel at a zoo.

"Another July 1st, from long ago - 1967, in fact: for Diana's 6th birthday party, my father (standing, left) - to huge excitement - secured the services of Bert the Camel, from Thorney Wildlife Park, in Peterborough," Charles captioned the post.
