Linda Hogan, Hulk's first wife of 26 years, was among those who remembered the icon. She reflected on the loss in the comments section of a throwback post she uploaded just days before he died.

"The good old days!" she captioned at the time. "I had no idea he would pass away this soon," Linda began in her tribute on Monday, July 28. "We all really thought he would make a come back! Big surprise. We are all devastated. It's hitting me so hard."

Linda shared that she had been "weeping all day" and found the "finality" of her ex-husband's death "shocking." The pair first met when Hulk was 28 and Linda was 22. They married in 1983, and had two children together: Brooke and Nick Hogan. They divorced in 2009.

"I still love him," Linda said of Hulk. "Even tho I never spoke or saw him, Nick did .. and Nick would tell me things and vice versa. Just news about life. I still felt .. although broken .. we still were a family."

Linda added that "it's hard" to know Hulk is gone, and while she has tried to remain strong for Nick, she's "melting down." She concluded her message, saying: "It's very sad. I love you Hulkster. You were my man. The only man for me. RIP."
