Legal Experts Weigh in on HR Executive Kristin Cabot's Future After Cheating Scandal Rocks Coldplay Concert
While her lover recently resigned, the fate of the AI company employee remains under discussion among attorneys. She has held the position for less than a year.
Astronomer's Chief People Officer, Kris Cabot, whose "kiss-cam" video with CEO Andy Byron went viral on July 17, 2025, is still employed by the company.
The HR executive is reportedly on leave and has not been fired due to liability concerns, said legal experts. Attorney Nicole Brenecki explained:
"In a real-world big company, you can't just fire someone because the headlines are ugly. There are likely contracts, internal investigations, and legal issues involved."
"If HR greenlit what happened with Coldplay, and there is a supporting paper trail, heads will likely roll. It just might take a few more days before the ax drops," she continued.
Cabot took on the job at the New York-based data science company in November 2024. While her future at Astronomer still hangs in the balance, the same cannot be said about Byron, who was forced to resign after serving as the CEO for two years.
The two were outed by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin during the band's concert in Boston, Massachusetts. Astronomer later confirmed that they would launch an investigation into the incident.
