Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Message to Fans Ahead of His Death
The beloved Black Sabbath frontman delivered his farewell message during his final performance with his bandmates. His death was recently confirmed by his family.
The iconic Prince of Darkness has left a bottomless void in the rock community following his recent passing. Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, after a years-long battle with Parkinson's disease and multiple other health issues. He was 76.
Just weeks earlier, he delivered a memorable final show alongside the original Black Sabbath members — his longtime friends — lead guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward. The four musicians co-founded the band in 1968.
Their "Back to the Beginning" concert took place in their hometown of Aston in Birmingham, England, on July 5. Osbourne sang from a black throne that rose up from beneath the stage. "Let the madness begin!" he shouted as the show kicked off.
Later, he paid tribute to his supporters in the crowd. "I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel — thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're all … special. Let's go crazy, come on," he said.
Osbourne had announced his final performance earlier this year. "It's my time to go back to the beginning … time for me to give back to the place where I was born," he said in a statement at the time.
"How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham forever," he wrote. Osbourne leaves behind an indelible legacy. Shortly after his passing, his family released a statement.
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the statement read. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
