Robin Williams’ Son Remembers Dad on What Would’ve Been the Actor’s 74th Birthday
The late actor's eldest child took to Instagram to post a reflective tribute in honor of his father's birthday. The "Mrs. Doubtfire" star tragically died in 2014, leaving behind his wife and three children.
Zachary Pym Williams remembered his father, Robin Williams, on what would've been his 74th birthday on Monday, July 21. He shared a poignant message on Instagram, reflecting on the impact of his absence.
"Every year, this season arrives with gravity. In just sixty days, we pass through Father's Day, his birthday, and the anniversary of his death. It's a tender and complicated stretch of time. One that asks a lot of the heart," Zachary wrote.
"For me, grief isn't linear. It loops and echoes. It softens, then crescendos. But alongside it lives a legacy, the kind built not from fame or recognition, but from generosity and relentless kindness," he continued.
Zachary added that his father was a man who "lived to make people feel seen" and "gave permission to feel deeply and to laugh through the pain." He declared that that mission continues in his absence.

The 42-year-old expressed his belief in honoring those he loved by upholding the values they lived by. "To anyone carrying loss right now: you're not alone. You are part of a passage of love and connection that never really ends," he said. "Happy birthday, Dad. Love you forever."
Zachary is Robin Williams' first child with his first wife, Valerie Velardi. The late actor had his second and third children, Zelda and Cody Williams, with his second wife Marsha Garces.
He died by suicide in August 2014 after battling severe depression. At the time, he was married to Susan Schneider. He was 63.
