Keith Urban Ends Interview After Question About Nicole Kidman's Steamy Scenes with Zac Efron
An awkward on-air moment turned into a sudden disconnection when Keith Urban abruptly ended a Zoom interview after being asked about his wife Nicole Kidman's romantic scenes with Zac Efron.
Keith Urban, 57, was appearing on Australia's Mix 102.3 radio show "Hayley & Max in the Morning" on Tuesday when co-hosts Hayley Peterson and Max Burford introduced what they called a tricky and personal question.
"I'm really uncomfortable asking this," Peterson admitted on-air before passing the mic to Burford. Burford then asked the country singer, "What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?"
The question referenced Nicole Kidman's role opposite Zac Efron, 37, in the 2024 Netflix romantic comedy "A Family Affair," which featured intimate scenes between the two actors.
Urban offered no verbal response. Moments later, a producer informed listeners that the singer and his team had disconnected from the Zoom call.
"I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question," the producer said. Peterson appeared to agree. "That is 100 percent what happened," she responded. "He's gone! I knew it. He doesn't like talking about his wife."
Burford added humorously, "Does Keith Urban hate us? Do we have beef with Keith Urban?" Since the incident, Urban has not spoken out about the incident.
Urban and Kidman have been married since June 2006. The couple, known for keeping their personal life largely private, have generally avoided public discussion of one another's work.
