Buckingham Palace Reacts to Jamie Laing Recreating Harry and Meghan’s Video with His Wife Inside Palace

The TV personality and his wife breached protocol during a private reception at the Palace to film the video. The Royal Family has since responded — see inside.

On Thursday, June 26, Jamie Laing posted a playful video doing the "Baby Mama" challenge on the Grand Staircase at Buckingham Palace with his wife, Sophie Habboo.

The couple filmed the video during a special reception to meet His Majesty King Charles ahead of the King's Trust Awards ceremony. The pair came dressed to the nines for the occasion, both opting for a formal style.

Habboo looked radiant in a flowing halter-neck yellow gown that hugged her baby bump, adorned with a delicate green floral print and a standout rosette detail at the chest. The 30-year-old kept her accessories minimal and wore her hair down.

Beside her, Laing wore a sleek black suit paired with a simple white T-shirt and black dress shoes. In the clip, he and Habboo danced to the "Baby Mama" song, with the words "The Royal Baby has arrived" displayed above them.

"They said we couldn't film in Buckingham Palace… @sophiehabboo," Laing cheekily captioned the post. The video was a breach of Palace rules, The video breached Palace rules, which state that guests are not allowed to use cameras inside during official events.

However, it appears Buckingham Palace took the viral moment in stride, as it responded in the comments under The Royal Family’s official Instagram account: "We see you 👀😉."

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, joined the trend four years ago with their own video, shortly before they welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.

Their version, however, sparked intense backlash at the time, with many calling it "inappropriate." Despite the criticism, Meghan recently reposted the clip in honor of Lilibet’s fourth birthday earlier this month.
