Justin Baldoni has decided not to amend or refile his dismissed legal claims against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, or The New York Times, signaling a shift in legal strategy amid their high-profile dispute.

Two weeks after a federal judge dismissed Justin Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively, 37, and her husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, the "It Ends With Us" actor-director will not pursue amended claims, according to his attorney Bryan Freedman.

Judge Lewis J. Liman granted the motions to dismiss on June 9, 2025, but allowed Baldoni's team the opportunity to revise and resubmit portions of the case related to breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contract. That deadline was set for June 23, but no amendments were filed.

In a statement, Freedman emphasized that the court's ruling "has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign," adding that discovery is ongoing and that they remain confident in their defense.

"Instead of revising the existing claims, our clients will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us," Freedman said.

The dismissed countersuit had accused Lively of defamation, extortion, and launching a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni's separate $250 million libel case against The New York Times, which covered Lively's original December 2024 complaint, was also thrown out.

Following the rulings, Freedman publicly criticized the court's decision, calling it "not fair" and "not right" during an appearance on TMZ Live.
