Anne Burrell’s Final Touching Post Shared Days Before Her Death

The seasoned celebrity chef passed away suddenly earlier this week. In her final post, she appeared happy and healthy, sharing a sweet exchange with a beloved internet personality.

Anne Burrell was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. First responders had been dispatched to her residence and attempted life-saving measures, but to no avail.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The culinary expert was 55. Her family confirmed her passing in a statement obtained by PEOPLE that same day.

"Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered. [Her] light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal," the statement read.

Burrell is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton; her stepson, Javier; her children, Isabella, Amelia, and Nicholas; her mother, Marlene; and her siblings, Jane and Ben.

In her final post on Instagram, the former "Worst Cooks in America" host had shared a photo of herself and her neighbour, the Green Lady of Brooklyn, a local social media influencer.

"I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!! I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her. I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!! #ilovewhatido #luckygirl 💚💚💚," she wrote in her caption.

The Green Lady also responded in the comments, writing, "Hi Ann 💚 it was so much fun meeting you 💚 see you again soon in the neighborhood 💚 the only thing I make is coffee and fig preserves from my fig tree 💚 love and hugs 💚 Elizabeth 💚😘💚."

The post's comment section—initially filled with excited fan reactions raving about the meeting—is now flooded with heartfelt tributes and messages of condolences.
