Meghan Markle Speaks Out on Viral Delivery Room Dance Video After Backlash: 'You Have to Be Authentic'

Meghan Markle has broken her silence following a wave of criticism over a viral video showing her dancing in a delivery room during labor. The Duchess of Sussex has defended the moment as a celebration of authenticity and joy.

Meghan Markle has finally responded to critics, following her viral delivery room dance video. The clip, which the Duchess of Sussex shared on Instagram two weeks ago, sees her dancing and twerking while she is in labor.

In the video, Meghan gets her husband’s support as Prince Harry is also seen showcasing his moves. Alongside the video, Meghan captioned, “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work - there was only one thing left to do!”

The clip has since ignited reactions online. "Now I know why she always holding her belly! She's afraid that the pillow will slip out," wrote one critic. Another added, "Lol she isn't anywhere even close to pushing out that pillow. The pillow is way to high."

Amid the criticism, her fans came to her defense. One person wrote, "Beautiful and authentic. Do your thing Meghan. Make them stew." Someone else echoed, "The video was so cute. I don't know why people are so hateful to these two. Well I do, I just wish they would stop."

Following the backlash, Meghan spoke about the video, during her recent appearance with "Aspire" podcast. The mom of two told host Greed that she recorded the video when she was pregnant with her daughter.

"By the way, that wasn't yesterday…That was four years ago," she said. "So it's also a really great reminder that, with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life. A real, authentic, fun life that's happening behind the scenes."

Meghan concluded by saying that she was grateful to be back on social media and have a platform to share things on her own terms.
