First Lady Melania Trump turned heads as she joined President Donald Trump for the annual congressional picnic on the South Lawn of the White House on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The event, a bipartisan tradition, included a moment of recognition for the First Lady's recent work on a bill addressing online abuse.

President Trump took a pause from his speech to praise Melania's role in the passage of a bipartisan bill that criminalizes the nonconsensual sharing of explicit content, including deepfakes. The legislation strengthens protections for victims of digital exploitation, an issue the First Lady has long championed.

"When I saw that bill passed bipartisan, I said, 'You know, I think you're going to take my job, Melania,'" Trump said. "We don't get so much bipartisan," he added, gesturing to the lawmakers in attendance.

The bill is part of the First Lady's continued efforts to promote online safety and responsible digital behavior, a cause she has supported since her time in the White House began. The picnic marked one of her most visible appearances this year.
