Eddie Murphy and Mel B's Child Angel, 18, Comes Out as Transgender
Angel, the 18-year-old child of singer Mel B and actor Eddie Murphy, has come out as a transgender man—an announcement met with love and support from both parents.
Mel B and Eddie Murphy have expressed support for their child, Angel, who recently came out as a transgender man, an exclusive report by MailOnline reveals.
Angel, who turned 18 in April 2025, updated the pronouns on his personal Instagram account, signaling that he now identifies as male and wishes to be referred to using "him" pronouns.
After the revelation, an exclusive report revealed that both Mel B and Murphy are standing by Angel. "It's a decision Angel made and Mel has been understanding, likewise Eddie," the source disclosed.
"There was no big event to mark it. Angel just wanted it to be known what pronouns are now suitable," the source added.
While Mel B and Murphy have not publicly acknowledged Angel's decision, the proud parents have always expressed their admiration for their daughter. Mel B publicly celebrated Angel's milestone birthday with a heartfelt message on Instagram back in April.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY ANGEL !!! I cannot believe youre 18 You are so special and so bright and so talented!! [sic]" she wrote.
"I couldnt be prouder of watching you grow and become the person you are but youll forever be my babyyyy I hop you keep chasing yor dreams and be kind to everyone around you like you always have been my Angel Love you always ❤️❤️❤️[sic]," the post continued.
Angel is Mel B's only child with Eddie Murphy, born during their brief relationship in the mid-2000s. Despite some early disputes over paternity, both parents have since maintained a supportive relationship regarding Angel's upbringing.
