Reality television stars Todd and Julie Chrisley have been released from prison after receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, following an extensive campaign led by their daughter, Savannah Chrisley.

The couple, best known for their reality show "Chrisley Knows Best," had been serving time for convictions related to bank fraud, tax evasion, and concealing income associated with their show. Todd was serving his sentence at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie was held at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Savannah Chrisley shared the news in an emotional Instagram video on May 27, just hours before their release. "The president called me personally as I was walking into Sam's Club and notified me that he was signing paper pardon paperwork for both of my parents," she said.

"So both my parents are coming home tonight [Tuesday] or tomorrow [Wednesday], and I still don't believe it's real. I'm freaking out – the fact that the president called me," Savannah added, visibly overwhelmed by the news.

She went on to express her gratitude: "I will forever be grateful for President Trump, his administration and everyone along the way, all of my lawyers, the people who put in countless hours and effort and love for my family to make sure that my parents got home."

By Wednesday evening, May 28, 2025, Todd Chrisley had walked out of the Pensacola facility and returned to Nashville. Julie was released from Lexington later that night and also made her way back to their home in Nashville.

The pardon follows Savannah's direct appeal to the Trump administration, including her appearance and speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Todd had been sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by 16 months of probation, while Julie received a 7-year sentence and the same probation period. In addition to their prison terms, the couple was ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution.
