Bebe Rexha Claps Back at Azealia Banks over Met Gala Criticism and Reveals Pregnancy Loss
The Grammy Award nominee expressed frustration on social media after the New York rapper commented on her weight following her 2025 Met Gala appearance.
Bebe Rexha responded to Azealia Banks's body-shaming remarks in a since-deleted X post, which she initially shared on May 6, 2025.
"I'm so tired of people commenting on my weight. I have PCOS and struggle with infertility," penned the "Say My Name" singer, adding:
"I got pregnant, and it didn't work out and I've been carrying that pain in silence."
Rexha noted that although she doesn't owe anyone an explanation, her response might make naysayers "think twice" before remarking on other people's bodies.
Following her 2025 Met Gala appearance, Banks aimed the songwriter on X, writing, "Sis gives me - hormonal birth control implant or something."
Rexha replied directly to Banks in a follow-up post, "Ok I'm gonna go and enjoy my day now. Have a good day everyone love you."
The Brooklyn native made her Met Gala debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, 2025, in New York City. She donned a black coat and grand tulle skirt designed by Christian Siriano. The star completed her look with fishnet gloves for the prestigious event.
