Her new single started with a big life change at home. Now, the singer is gearing up for a busy season, with fresh music, a first-ever vinyl release, and a primetime special celebrating her sold-out Las Vegas residency.
Jennifer Lopez has new music up her sleeve, starting with what she describes as a “happy dance song” that comes with a meaningful twist.
“It’s really a beautiful song about this kind of duality,” Lopez told Variety of her new single, “Proof of Love.” “These are the things that are the proof of love. One of them is pain and grief when someone’s gone.”
“You feel pain and grief. That’s really proof of love,” she added. But instead of making the song about devastation, she focuses on the celebration of love in grief. “I wanted to make that a happy thing,” she said. “I wanted to make that a marker instead of this devastating thing.”
Jennifer Lopez found inspiration to create new music after finding herself in an empty nest, after her twins, Max and Emme, left for college.
“They take up such a big part of your brain for so long, and when they’re gone, which is devastating and sad and scary, you’re facing a life that’s totally different now, and you’re like, ‘What am I going to do with this space and this time?’” she said. “For me, I just went back in the studio. I’ve written some of the best songs that I’ve ever written, and I’m really excited.”
Lopez describes her latest chapter of music as “a very happy era album,” adding, “It’s some of the most joyous, beautiful songs that have just a tad of a tear in them.” (Variety). She said “Proof of Love” will be followed by a couple of other “super fun” songs.
“Proof of Love” will be released as a bonus track on the first-ever vinyl edition of Lopez’s 2011 album “Love?,” her seventh studio album, which featured her hits “On the Floor” with Pitbull, “I’m Into You” with Lil Wayne, and “Papi.”
The vinyl edition will be available in November, with preorders for three different versions beginning October 28.
This holiday season, fans will also be able to watch Lopez on TV in a concert film featuring her Las Vegas residency. Titled “The JLO Show: Live in Las Vegas,” it premieres on November 26 on CBS and will stream on Paramount+, which will also offer an extended version.
Lopez’s Las Vegas residency kicked off during the week of New Year’s Eve in 2025, running for 12 sold-out shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The concert film will feature her final performance, which took place on March 28.
The show touches on Lopez’s journey from the Bronx to the global stage, with a full orchestra, a vocal ensemble, and 16 dancers. It features her career-spanning hits like “Waiting for Tonight,” “Jenny from the Block,” and “Let’s Get Loud,” along with Broadway standards and nods to legendary Las Vegas entertainers.
