Kimora Lee Simmons Fires Back After Russell Simmons Accuses Her of Blocking Access to Their Kids
Kimora Lee Simmons is pushing back after Russell Simmons publicly claimed she’s keeping him away from their daughters. The exes aired their disagreement online, with both offering very different versions of their family dynamic.
A public dispute has unfolded between Kimora Lee Simmons and her ex-husband Russell Simmons after he accused her of keeping him from their children — claims she forcefully rejected.

Russell made the allegations in a post on Threads, where he claimed Kimora blocked his access to their daughters, Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons, who are now adults. In the post, he alleged that their relationship deteriorated after a financial and business dispute.
Russell wrote that he had given “$50,000 a month for 20 years” and described himself as Kimora's “best / only friend.”

He said he had been the godfather to Kimora's 3 other children before the relationship broke down over what he described as stolen stock.
“I have been fighting for my kids’ love and my bread ever since,” he revealed, adding that he was warned he’d lose access to his children if he took legal action. He ended the message by saying, “There are two sides to every story.”
Kimora Responds on Instagram
Kimora responded publicly via Instagram Stories, directly addressing Russell’s claims and pointing out that their daughters are adults.
“My ‘girls’ are GROWN WOMEN!” she wrote. “You know these are lies. Why are you typing from thousands of miles away in a non extradition [sic] country? Go negotiate and Answer your Accusers.”
Her response appeared to reference Russell’s long-standing decision to live outside the United States, as well as the sexual misconduct allegations that have followed him in recent years.
No Co-Parenting Relationship
Just days before the public dispute, Kimora spoke to People about her family life and her parenting dynamic.
“Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” she said. “I don’t really talk to the dads. Guys are weird.”
Kimora also spoke about the challenges of raising five children and how she depends on support from her “village” of friends and family. She emphasized that parenting can be overwhelming, especially when doing it alone, but that she’s proud of the job she’s done.
Where Things Stand
So far, neither of their daughters has publicly addressed the dispute. Both women appear to maintain a close relationship with their mother, who often shares family moments on social media.
While Russell insists that he has made consistent financial and emotional efforts to stay involved, Kimora maintains that his version of events is inaccurate.
With both sides now speaking out, the family’s private tensions have spilled into public view — and the disagreement shows no signs of quieting down.
