Donald Trump Clashes with Reporter After Being Questioned About Poll Numbers
Donald Trump pushed back when pressed on new polling about the U.S. economy. His sharp exchange with a reporter is fueling fresh debate over public perception and economic reality.
Donald Trump clashed with a reporter recently. The incident occurred after he was asked about polling data suggesting Americans are anxious about the economy. The exchange took place during a Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham, where the president rejected claims that public sentiment is shifting.

After being asked why many Americans feel uneasy about the economy, Trump said he didn't believe people were actually expressing that concern. He added that the country has the greatest economy.
His remarks follow a new Harris poll, which found that 75 percent of U.S. households have experienced rising expenses over the past year. The same poll shows that 55 percent of Democrats and independents place responsibility for current economic conditions on Trump's administration.

Republican respondents, however, attributed the economic strain to broader inflation trends. In August, Trump claimed via social media that the U.S. was facing virtually no inflation. In reality, inflation currently stands at 3 percent—above the Federal Reserve's 2 percent target.
Economists caution that inflation could rise further in the coming months, driven in part by ongoing tariffs. Poll participants identified inflation as the most significant threat to the U.S. economy.

Trump has repeatedly pointed to stock market growth and employment figures as evidence of a strong economy. However, the polling data suggests a divide between official indicators and public perception.
