The Princess of Wales and Prince William welcomed the President and First Lady Melania Trump on the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the ceremonial arrival marked the opening of the two-day state visit.

For the occasion, the President and First Lady donned matching regal purple accents in a nod to the Royal Family during their visit.
As the two parties met and exchanged greetings, Trump, 79, looked directly at Princess Kate, 43, and said, "You're beautiful, so beautiful."

The remark was made just after the Trumps stepped off Marine One and approached the royal couple. Prince William, also 43, then led the group forward, resting a guiding hand on the backs of both Kate and Melania as they began walking together.
