Naomi Watts Gets Emotional as Son Sasha Heads to College
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber shared emotional farewells as their son Sasha left home for his freshman year of college, marking a bittersweet milestone for the former couple.
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber each shared heartfelt tributes as their son, Sasha Schreiber, left home to begin his college journey. She posted an emotional snapshot on her Instagram Stories on Monday, showing herself clinging to her 18-year-old son on a city sidewalk.
With luggage and duffel bags piled beside them — and even a small dog perched on top of the stack — the actress wrapped her arms tightly around Sasha's waist and pressed her head to his chest.

"Step #1," she wrote over the image. "Already [bawling] 😭😭😭." She tagged her son, who wore a white T-shirt, loose blue jeans, and a simple chain. Watts was dressed in a beige oversized blazer layered over a white collared shirt with wide-leg jeans.

The actress also shared another touching moment, capturing Sasha embracing his younger sister, Kai, 16. In the photo, Sasha, now with a gray sweater draped over his shoulders and headphones around his neck, looked somber as he hugged Kai, who wore a black tank top and white shorts.
Schreiber, 57, also marked the occasion with his own Instagram post. "Starting to feel the pull," he admitted, before adding, "Gonna miss my ride or die. Having said that, USC is gonna get one of the deepest, kindest, bravest and most beautiful boys I have ever known. [sic]"
Sasha graduated in June from Friends Seminary, a private school in New York City, and is now headed across the country to begin his freshman year at the University of Southern California.
Watts and Schreiber, who share both Sasha and Kai, ended their 11-year relationship in 2016.
