Seth Blackstock Remembers Dad in Heartbreaking Tribute

The late music manager died last Thursday following a years-long battle with a severe illness. His eldest son took to social media over the weekend to remember his father.

Seth Blackstock is mourning the loss of his father, Brandon Blackstock. Brandon died of melanoma, the most aggressive form of skin cancer, on Thursday, August 7, 2025. He was 48. Days after the news was announced, Seth took to Instagram to honor the late music manager.

"I lost my hero yesterday," Seth began. "Words can't describe how proud of you I am on raising me and your 3 other kids. You were a father, a son, a brother, and most importantly my best friend."

He continued: "You'll have to watch me grow up from a Birds Eye view now buts that's ok with me. There's no one else on this earth that I would want to be my dad because no one can be half the man you were to me. I'll see you everyday when the sun rises and falls."

"I can confidently say all the deer and elk took a sigh of relief when the best hunter I've ever known laid his rifle down for the last time," he joked. "I love you so much and can't wait to throw a line in the water with you again. Love you dad. Be good or good at it -love your son Seth."

Seth is Brandon's first son and second child with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth. The former couple, who were married from 2001 to 2012, first welcomed their daughter, Savannah, in 2001. The 24-year-old is now married and has a son with her husband, Quentin Lee.

One month before Brandon died, Savannah had announced that she and Quentin were expecting their second child. Along with her and Seth, Brandon is also survived by his father Narvel Blackstock, his mother Elisa Gayle Ritter, and siblings Chassidy, Shawna, and Shelby.
