Jack Osbourne Speaks Out Weeks After Ozzy Osbourne's Death
Two weeks after saying goodbye to his legendary father, Jack Osbourne has broken his silence, not with a press release or a statement, but with a deeply personal tribute capturing the spirit, humor, and chaos of life with Ozzy Osbourne.
Just days after the world mourned the death of heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne, his son Jack Osbourne is opening up about his father’s passing and legacy in a heartfelt Instagram post.

"I haven't really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much. I'm gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches," wrote Jack, 39, one of Ozzy's three children with wife and longtime manager Sharon Osbourne.
"He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him 'Dad,'" he added. The emotional reel was set to Ozzy's 1983 ballad "So Tired" from the "Bark at the Moon" album.
Jack shared the message alongside a video montage featuring personal moments with his father: from childhood appearances together, including a 1997 visit to "The Howard Stern Show" where young Jack described having Ozzy as a dad as "very cool," to scenes from their reality TV days, road trips, and family bonding.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, following a cardiac arrest tied to underlying coronary artery disease.
"My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing," Jack continued.
He ended the post with a quote from author Hunter S. Thompson's "The Proud Highway," capturing the wild, full-throttle energy Ozzy was known for:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body… but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a ride!'"
The tribute concluded with family photos of Ozzy beaming with his children and grandchildren, as well as a touching clip of him teaching young Jack how to bow and thank an audience after a performance.
Also included were images from Ozzy's final show, "Back to the Beginning," on July 5, 2025 in Birmingham, England, as well as a cheeky floral arrangement displayed at his private funeral.
"That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully," Jack wrote. "I love you dad."
