Khloé Kardashian Steps in as Primary Caretaker for Tristan Thompson's Brother Amari
Khloé Kardashian has quietly stepped into a full-time caregiving role, taking responsibility for someone closely tied to her past.
Khloé Kardashian has taken on a new role at home — caring for her ex-partner's younger brother, Amari Thompson. In the July 30 episode of her podcast "Khloé in Wonder Land," the 41-year-old reality star opened up about why she stepped in as Amari's primary caretaker. This decision followed the death of his mother, Andrea Thompson, in January 2023.
Khloé explained that Tristan has an 18-year-old younger brother, Amari, who is severely disabled. She shared that he has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a form of epilepsy, and has never been able to walk or talk.
Khloé explained that Tristan’s mom had been Amari’s sole caretaker when the family lived in Canada. After her passing, the reality star and her family brought Amari back to the U.S.
The TV personality noted that Tristan's demanding NBA travel schedule makes it difficult for Amari to be constantly on the move. She said he experiences multiple seizures daily due to his condition, making frequent travel unsafe for him. "Amari stays in L.A. with me," she continued. "I have chosen to take care of him and be there for him."
Khloé credited two professional caregivers for their daily support and emphasized that their goal is simple: "We just want to provide Amari with the best, most beautiful life that we know how. And he deserves that."
