
Hulk Hogan’s Cause of Death Revealed One Week After His Passing
The wrestling legend passed away suddenly last week, surrounded by his loved ones. The documents stating his cause of death revealed a previously unknown detail about his health.
WWE icon Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terrence Gene Bollea, took his last breath on the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. He was 71.

On the day of his death, it was reported that the 911 caller who dialed for emergency services stated he was suffering cardiac arrest. Medical records obtained by PEOPLE now confirm that Hogan died of acute myocardial infarction, more commonly known as a heart attack.
According to the documents, the longtime wrestler also had a history of leukemia, a form of cancer that affects white blood cells, and atrial fibrillation, a common disorder known to cause irregular heartbeats. Hogan’s battle with leukemia had not been previously disclosed.

Following his passing, his family released a statement. “It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones,” the statement read.
It continued: “At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends. May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades. He will be missed, but never forgotten”
