Tyler Perry Opens Up About Firing a Family Member Over Lack of Commitment
The billionaire media mogul opened up about the experience during a recent appearance on a podcast, where he candidly discussed his no-nonsense approach to supporting his family.
Tyler Perry recently revealed that he once fired his aunt from a job he gave her after she failed to follow through. The actor and producer spoke about the ordeal during a conversation on the "Den of Kings" YouTube series with host Kirk Franklin.

The pair were also joined by fellow guests Derrick Hayes and Jay "Jeezy" Jenkins. "She said she wanted a job. She would always call asking for money, I would send her the money," Perry recalled.
"I said, 'Listen, I want to help you. I want to help you build this thing, not be welfare to you. So, let me give you a job,'" he continued. However, his aunt showed up for work after she was hired and constantly called off.
"'Well, you gotta go,'" Perry remembered telling her. "Because you want me to hand you the money, but you don't want to work for it. See, that doesn't work for me."
He went on to share that he adopts the same mentality when parenting his 11-year-old son, Aman. If Aman wants something, he has to earn it by doing chores.
"I don't believe in giving us things that are just going to handicap us. That is the worst thing you can do," he explained.
