The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Adds Pauline Chalamet, Lucy Liu & More to Cast
The 2006 drama flick is officially in production with most of the original main cast returning to reprise their roles. With a new storyline in the works, 20th Century Studios has now added several new cast members.
"The Devil Wears Prada 2" began filming at the end of June with fan favorites Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt all returning for the second installment of the 2000s cult classic.
Variety recently confirmed that moviegoers will also be seeing new faces in the film, including Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, Pauline Chalamet, and B.J. Novak. Other newcomers include Broadway stars Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora, as well as comedian Caleb Hearon.
Plot details remain under wraps at the moment, but it is reported that the story will follow Miranda Priestly (portrayed by Streep) as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing.
Her antagonist will be Blunt's character, Emily Charlton, who is now a high-ranking executive at a luxury group and holds significant power over Miranda's Runway magazine.
Other familiar faces fans can expect to see are Tracie Thoms, who portrayed Hathaway's best friend Lily in the original film, and Tibor Feldman, who played the chairman of Runway's parent company.
One actor who won’t return for the sequel is Adrien Grenier, who played Hathaway's boyfriend throughout the first movie. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news earlier this month.
