Guests Booted from Venice Hotel to Clear Space for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Big Weekend
Guests at the luxury hotel, Aman Venice, were asked to vacate their rooms to make way for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's star-studded wedding celebration.
Jeff Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sánchez have rented out the exclusive Aman Venice hotel ahead of their wedding, prompting the relocation of guests with prior reservations, sources told Page Six.
In the days leading up to the event, security teams, reportedly around a dozen men, conducted detailed sweeps of the property, inspecting courtyards and even peering inside cabinets. One source described the hotel lobby as "chaotic," with staff confirming the identities of arriving guests.
An insider revealed that guests who had booked rooms for Wednesday night "a long time in advance were booted once Bezos rented the entire space a few months ago." Those affected were relocated to other luxury hotels, including the nearby St. Regis Venice.
Aman is said to be covering the cost of those accommodations, comping one night's stay and offering complimentary upgrades. Still, some guests expressed frustration at having to repack and move.
"Some are griping that they have to pack up, take transport [Aman provided] and unpack again," said the source.
Inside the hotel, staff were reportedly bracing for the high-profile influx, with spa employees described as "harried" while preparing for demanding celebrity clients. A section of the Aman is also said to be reserved for high-profile guests, shielded from photographers.
At the St. Regis, where many VIP wedding guests are expected to stay, seven Italian police officers were seen inside the lobby on June 24, 2025, Tuesday afternoon, underscoring the heightened security surrounding the event.
In lieu of traditional wedding gifts, Bezos and Sánchez, who got engaged in 2023 after going public with their relationship in 2019, have asked guests to forgo presents. Instead, they are making donations in guests' honor to three Venice-based causes.
The chosen causes include the UNESCO Venice Office, CORILA, and Venice International University. The couple wrote that the contributions aim to ensure the city "will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come."
