Initially listed to ride in the second carriage with the Prince of Wales, her name was quietly removed ahead of the procession. Prince William instead joined King Charles and Queen Camilla.

A source close to the Princess said she is "disappointed not to be able to join," but added that she is "still having to find the right balance" while continuing her recovery and gradual return to public life after undergoing cancer treatment.

Catherine's mother, Carole Middleton, was seen arriving at Ascot at approximately 12:20 p.m. local time. Meanwhile, Prince William fulfilled his royal role by presenting the trophy for the Prince of Wales' Stakes later in the afternoon.

This is the second consecutive year Princess Catherine has missed the event. In 2024, she stepped back from royal duties to receive chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer.
