With a landmark 50th season on the horizon, "Survivor" has unveiled a returning cast that's already stirring debate among fans — and a surprising celebrity contestant is at the center of the buzz.

With "Survivor 50" officially confirmed, much of its all-returning cast was unveiled on May 28 during "CBS Mornings," sparking strong reactions from fans of the long-running reality competition.

This milestone season, titled "Survivor: In the Hands of the Fans," will feature 24 contestants — 22 of whom have already been announced, with two more to be chosen from "Survivor 49." All players are returning veterans, many competing for their second, third, fourth, or even fifth time for the coveted $1 million prize.

Among the returning castaways is actor, writer, and "The White Lotus" creator Mike White. While White is known for his Emmy-winning HBO series, fans also remember his strategic gameplay and humor during "Survivor: David vs. Goliath."

Other returning legends include Colby Donaldson from Season 2, Aubry Bracco from Season 32—back for her fourth time—and fan favorites Cirie Fields (Season 12) and Ozzy Lusth (Season 13), both making their fifth appearance.

Joining them are Q Burdette and Tiffany Irvin from Season 46, Kamilla Karthigesu and Joseph Hunter from Season 48, Kyle Fraser (winner of Season 48), and Charlie Davis, also from Season 46.

Additional returning players include Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick (Season 10), Rick Devens (Season 38), Jonathan Young (Season 42), Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (Season 1), Genevieve Mushaluk (Season 47), Emily Flippen (Season 45), Dee Valladares (winner of Season 45), Christian Hubicki (Season 37), Chrissy Hofbeck (Season 35), Benjamin "Coach" Wade (Season 18), and Angelina Keeley (Season 37).

Not everyone was pleased with the selection of players, with many fans expressing disappointment. "Too many new era players. Not enough early and middle era," one fan complained.

"Honestly disappointed with the casting. Thought this special season would have a much larger cast and it seems like there are way too many new era cast members including 2 people that just played the game," another netizen agreed. "Please fire whoever cast this season," a third person said.

"Survivor 50" is set to premiere in 2026, following the debut of "Survivor 49" this fall.
