Jane Fonda Uses Wheelchair at LAX Following USC Commencement Address
The 87-year-old Hollywood legend was leaving Los Angeles after delivering her commencement speech at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism days ago—three years after revealing her cancer diagnosis.
Jane Fonda departed the California city on Monday, May 19, 2025. In a video shared online, she was seen at the Los Angeles International Airport, wearing a light brown textured cardigan over a black top and pants, paired with dark brown loafers and sunglasses.

As she exited her transport, one of the airport employees approached her with a wheelchair, which she promptly sat in before being pushed inside along with her luggage.
As the clip continues, the actress can be seen walking on her own at times, including when she grabs snacks at one of the shops.
The sighting comes after her address at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism's graduation ceremony for the Class of 2025. For the prestigious occasion, Fonda wore a striking red pantsuit with gray sweater, which complemented her coiffed silver locks.
She shared many notable messages with the graduates and reminded them, "The people who shape society's stories are the most powerful people in the society. That's you, dear graduates. And I wish you courage and love as you go flex your muscles."
In September 2022, Fonda revealed she had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and had already begun treatment. With an 80 percent survival rate, Fonda said she felt "very lucky" and "privileged" to have the means to access healthcare. Her cancer went into remission that December.
