While she exuded elegance, however, it was her teardrop pearl earrings that drew the most attention. The accessory once belonged to Princess Diana and was a wedding gift from the jewelry firm Collingwood, one that was favored by her family.

After Diana died, the earrings became an heirloom inherited by her eldest son, Prince William. Princess Kate would later receive them as a gift from her husband.

Before this most recent event, she had worn the earrings on other occasions. One such instance was at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance in November 2024, held at the Royal Albert Hall to honor the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces.
