Stevie Wonder Makes His Met Gala Debut Alongside His Family

The singer returned to the red carpet with a bang at one of the most coveted events of the year. He made it a family affair, appearing alongside his wife and son.

Stevie Wonder made his first ever appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, dressed to a T in honor of the night's theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."

The event took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on the first Monday of May, as it has for several decades.

Wonder donned a regal all-black ensemble by Sergio Hudson, featuring a tunic-style suit beneath a long, embellished cape. He accessorized with his iconic sunglasses and a tall hat adorned with a silver emblem.

His son, Kailand, wore a sleek black tuxedo with satin lapels, paired with a large silver embroidered belt. He finished off the look with suede shoes, leather gloves, and his braids tied back in a neat mid-parted style.

Wonder's wife, Tomeeka, exuded 1950s elegance in a long-sleeved, black mermaid gown with matching gloves, finishing the look with a silver necklace.

Speaking on the red carpet with Entertainment Tonight, Wonder said, "I'm just here very happy to celebrate Black designers and their ability to create consistently—since the beginning of time—style."

Later on in the evening, he and Usher delivered electrifying performances, with Wonder dishing out a string of hits, including "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)" and "Isn't She Lovely." The pair also serenaded the audience with a duet of Wonder's "Another Star."
