Malia and Sasha Obama Make Rare Appearance in New Photo
The daughters of former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama are a relatively private pair. Their appearance comes just days after their mom opened up about protecting them from the spotlight.
Malia and Sasha Obama attended Destin Conrad's album release party for his new project "Love On Digital." The singer shared photos from the celebration where he posed alongside the two sisters.
In the image, on the left, Malia is wearing an oversized burgundy leather jacket and has her curly auburn hair down with a few braids. On the right, Sasha is dressed in a cropped white tank top and light-wash jeans secured with a Western-style belt.
She also accessorized with a large brown pendant necklace. Posing between the sisters, Destin wore a black cut-out shirt with a bedazzled belt and dark-gold leather pants.
"i got 2 celebrate love on digital twice with my loved ones in LA and new york my heart is so full and my album comes out tonight, im the luckiest ever [sic]," he wrote in his caption.
Many were surprised to see Malia and Sasha out and about. "Sasha & Maliaaaa??? Ate 😍," one fan gushed. "Sasha and Malia?!!! yeah, that guest list was THICCCCCCCCC!! all C's no K [sic]," another noted.
Others found it amusing that Destin was connected to the Obama siblings. "Ofc you would be cool with the Obamas 😂😂😂 [sic]," one fan quipped, while another raved, "the obamasss?? ur so goated i love u 😍😍😍 [sic]."
Their appearance comes after their mother appeared on Sirius XM's "Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa" on April 29. Michelle said keeping her daughters out of tabloids during her husband’s terms was "a lot of work" and it only became more difficult as they grew older.

Malia and Sasha were curious and active teens like any others—joining teams, going to prom, going to parties, trying out smoking and drinking. But making sure the press didn’t interfere in their lives was an arduous task. "Every weekend was a nightmare," Michelle recalled.
But now that they're older, her main goal is helping them navigate the pressure of having a former president for a dad. She acknowledged that while there are downsides there are benefits, too.
