Sabrina Carpenter Says Men Are a ‘Super Entertaining Species’ to Watch
The "Please, Please, Please" singer opened up about her fascination in a new cover story, reflecting on her paradoxical experiences with her male counterparts.
Sabrina Carpenter is getting candid about how she views the opposite sex. The pop star shared her perspective in a new interview for the October 2025 cover of Vogue Italia, published Tuesday, September 23.
She released her latest album, "Man's Best Friend," on August 29, which she said was inspired by her curiosity about men — their flaws, their charms, and their contradictions — and her conflicting opinions about them.
"When one of my friends announces she's having a son, I rejoice for that child. Because I know he'll be raised right," she said. "Correct me if I'm wrong, I've only been on Earth 26 years, but I feel like we should have been raising them forever."
"Unfortunately, it's a story as old as time itself," she added. For the singer, men are never just one thing. "I do think that men have been a super entertaining species to watch," she continued. "In positive and negative ways."
"I feel really adored and inspired and loved by some of them… and really confused and attacked and ridiculed by others," she noted. Carpenter went on to explain that humor has been her anchor when dealing with the negativity and through difficult years in her life.
"Part of life is making light of moments that maybe make us uncomfortable, or at least, that is for me," she acknowledged. "My whole life I felt like humor was just this, and it wasn't even always humor, I think it was usually just sort of a wit that kind of saved me."
"It was always there to make sure that at the end of the day I was protecting myself for the future," she added.
