Steve Harvey's 'Celebrity Family Feud' Airs in Place of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' Amid Suspension
ABC's late-night schedule was thrown into flux this week as reruns of "Celebrity Family Feud" replaced "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in the wake of the host’s suspension over controversial remarks.
ABC's late-night lineup shifted this week after the network announced that "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" would not air as scheduled.
On Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025, ABC affiliates were notified that Kimmel's show would remain off the air "at least through Thursday," leaving the 11:35 p.m. slot without its regular host. The network has not yet confirmed when the program might return.
Instead, viewers tuning in at that hour were met with familiar reruns of Steve Harvey's "Celebrity Family Feud." According to a memo distributed by the ABC Affiliate Board, a body that represents station owners in communications with the network, the decision covered both Wednesday and Thursday nights.
"Formal guidance from Disney/ABC is forthcoming," the memo said, indicating that long-term plans for the late-night time slot are still undecided.
The Affiliate Board also addressed the uncertainty surrounding the situation, noting that it "remains engaged with ABC" as discussions continue.
For now, "Celebrity Family Feud" is temporarily filling the gap left by one of ABC's most prominent late-night franchises.
The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" suspension came after the host's September 15, 2025 remarks on Charlie Kirk's death, which executives deemed offensive and disrespectful.
