"I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative," Harry told The Guardian during a state visit to Kyiv on Sunday, September 14. "The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there."
"One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected," he said. "I don't believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear."
Harry added that it was never about revenge, but rather about accountability. He does not wish to prolong the divisions within his family, but acknowledged, "You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth."

The Duke noted that he lives by the truth, and it's something his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has encouraged. "She said, 'Just stick to the truth.' It is the thing I always fall back on. Always," he shared.
"And if you think like that, who would be stupid enough to lie? It takes up too much time and effort," he continued. Prince Harry's remarks came just days after he reunited with his father in the U.K. for the first time in nearly two years.
