Sophia Bush Reacts to Being Invited to 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'
Sophia Bush may be known for commanding roles on screen, but a surprising invitation from a close friend had her wondering if she was ready for the reality TV spotlight — and she missed it entirely.
Sophia Bush revealed during a recent appearance at the Create & Cultivate festival in Los Angeles that her longtime friend, Bozoma Saint John, once invited her to join "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." The twist? Bush didn't see the message until months later.

"Sophia would make a great housewife, right?" Bozoma said on stage at the July 19, 2025 event. "It totally makes sense. I wrote her a text message in April — I'm telling all your business — I was like, 'Hey, I need to ask you a controversial question.'"
According to Saint John, Bush didn't reply for months and only discovered the message the day before the panel, reacting with surprise that she'd missed it altogether.

Bush, known for her candid humor, admitted on stage that she has a habit of overlooking messages. She described discovering the text while writing to Bozoma the night before their panel appearance and laughing at the realization. The two mainly communicate in group chats, she noted.
Once she read the message in full, Bush asked what the "controversial question" had been. "She's like, 'I was trying to get you on the show,'" Bush recalled.

Although Bush didn't commit to joining the Bravo franchise, Bozoma emphasized that she believed her friend would be an ideal addition to the cast.
"We need more women who are self-possessed, who enjoy their relationships with other women, who understand conflict and drama," Saint John said, "not because they want to put on a spectacle, but because that's just what life is, and are unafraid to talk about the hard stuff."

Bush, who has been dating former U.S. soccer player Ashlyn Harris since 2023 following her divorce from Grant Hughes, admitted she initially didn't understand why Bozoma would want to be part of a show known for tension and arguments.
"I don't mean this to be judgy," Bush shared. "Genuinely, I was like, 'Isn't that the show where all the women yell at each other?' Boz is not a yeller. She is a cheerleader. She is a teammate. I don't think I get it. So, then I decided to tune in to watch you, and I was like, 'Oh, she's changing the vibe of a whole industry.'"
While Bush doesn't appear ready to join the cast herself, she expressed admiration for how her friend is using the platform in a positive way.
"She's modeling a healthier way," Bush explained. "Isn't that what we're all trying to do all day anyway, get through the time that passes and like it? I just want to like my life."
