Prince Harry's Senior Staff Meet with King Charles III's Chief PR Adviser in London
As King Charles III continues his cancer treatment, quiet signals from both camps suggest a potential thaw in one of the royal family's most high-profile rifts — and the latest behind-the-scenes meeting in London could mark the beginning of that shift.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to be seeking a path toward reconciliation with King Charles III amid ongoing concerns about the monarch's health, according to multiple insider accounts.

Last week in London, senior aides representing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with King Charles' top communications adviser, in what some close to the palace have described as a discreet but significant attempt at bridge-building.
The meeting had Meredith Maines, the Sussexes' chief communications officer, speaking with Tobyn Andreae, who heads media for the King. The informal conversation took place at the Royal Over-Seas League, a private London club, and was reportedly held in view of the public.

Also present was Liam Maguire, who manages UK press relations for the Sussexes. The purpose of the meeting was not officially confirmed, but its timing and visibility have fueled speculation.
According to royal biographer and longtime family confidant Hugo Vickers, the visual nature of the meeting was unexpected.
"The staff may well have just been discussing routine things, which is more than likely, but at some point you have got to reconcile," he said. "I don't think we'll see Harry returning to royal duties, but on a personal level it will be good if he's able to get on terms with his father."

Vickers also noted the emotional stakes involved, suggesting that Prince Harry may carry deep regret if he doesn't reconnect with his father during this critical time. "He would feel 'riddled with guilt' if he never saw his dad again," Vickers added.
Harry last saw King Charles in February 2024, shortly after the monarch publicly revealed his cancer diagnosis. That visit included only a brief, 30-minute conversation between father and son. Sources have indicated that while Charles, 76, continues to undergo treatment, he is receiving high-quality care.

Maines reportedly traveled from Los Angeles to London for a series of engagements, including meetings with UK-based staff, stakeholders, and representatives tied to Prince Harry's charitable work and patronages. Despite efforts to keep the trip discreet, insiders on both sides expressed frustration that the meeting was leaked.
There is also speculation within royal circles that Charles may extend a personal invitation to Harry, Meghan, and their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, to visit Balmoral Castle in Scotland this August. The King traditionally spends part of the summer there.
"It's his house he can do whatever he likes," shared Vickers, while also cautioning that "there's quite a lot of ground to be made up."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry's estranged relationship with his older brother remains unresolved. Prince William, who recently attended the Wimbledon men's final alongside Kate Middleton and their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, is said to have no current intention of engaging with Harry.
Sources close to William have indicated that he has not spoken to his brother in years and has no plans to reopen communication.

Despite this, Prince Harry offered an olive branch to both the King and his brother by inviting them to the 2027 Invictus Games. The early invitation is due to the King's calendar filling up years in advance.
