Freddie Prinze Jr. Gets Candid About ‘Bad’ Marriage Advice
The "Summer Catch" actor spoke about his experience receiving marriage advice from others and how it's worked out for him and his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Freddie Prinze Jr. opened up about how he doesn't take external guidance on how to maintain his romance with Gellar during a recent interview.

"I've never gotten any good advice," he told E! News. "Most of the marriage advice came from dudes that were divorced that thought we would get divorced, too. They were trying to deal with their own issues."
The 49-year-old actor likened advice to peanut butter. He explained, "I may think it's delicious, but if you're allergic, you're dead. So, it doesn't always apply as well as we would hope. I've gotten a lot of bad advice about marriage."

Prinze—who will mark his 23rd wedding anniversary with Gellar in September—has largely ignored outside advice. Instead, he looks forward to spending the next decade with Gellar.
"Dana Carvey said his 50s were the best years of his marriage that he's experienced. I'm almost 50, so I'm looking forward to that," he said. And as for plans for an anniversary celebration?
"You don't have to do anything fancy for 23. We're pretty relaxed and private, so we just keep things chill," he shared. Prinze and Gellar—who share kids Charlotte, 15, and Rocky, 12—first met on the set of the 1997 movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
Gellar's character, Helen Shivers, dies in the film but Prinze's Ray Bronston lives and he'll be reprising the role in the 2025 rendition of the horror flick, slated for release on July 18.
