
Melania and Donald Trump Turn Heads at ‘Les Misérables’ Opening Night
The President of the United States and his First Lady attended the prestigious event on Wednesday, dressed in their black-tie best. Their appearance, however, was met with mixed reception.
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump walked the red carpet as they arrived for the opening night of the stage adaptation of Victor Hugo's 1862 novel, "Les Misérables," on Wednesday evening, June 11.

The couple came dressed to the nines in coordinating attire. Donald wore a classic black tuxedo with a satin lapel, paired with a white dress shirt, a black bow tie, and black dress shoes.

Beside him, Melania stunned in a sleek, one-shoulder black gown with gold embellishments at the shoulder and hip. She accessorized with metallic pointed heels and wore her hair down in soft waves.

The two posed for photos before entering the venue and finding their seats. Upon their arrival inside—and their exit—they were met with both cheers and boos from the attending crowd. Despite the mixed reception, however, the couple still smiled and waved at the audience.
"Les Miserables" is running at the Kennedy Center's Opera House for the next several weeks until July 13, 2025. The performing arts center last showcased the production to a sold out crowd in 2023.
"Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, the musical tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit," the description reads on the Kennedy Center website.
Theatergoers can find performance dates during the week or on weekends.
